Ultimate drum editing -- part 2

This is Dr. Aoyama. Actually, I don't have a real Ph.D. To be honest I'm not very fond of studying, and my interests are more in the humanities than in the sciences, but stay with me and we'll have a good time with our topic.

As our second session on drum voice editing, we're going to talk about using system exclusive (SysEx) messages. As I wrote in our previous session, XG tone generators normally allow editing to be done using control changes (including RPN and NRPN) as well as SysEx messages. For several reasons, it is recommended that you use control change messages whenever possible, and use SysEx only to edit parameters which cannot be edited by control changes. (In general, this category consists of parameters which are infrequently used parameters and parameters which affect the entire tone generator.)
